Life Update

It's not very often I take the opportunity to have a little sit down and update you guys on my life currently. So, I thought I would make use of this free hour to sit down and essentially collect together a few important bits and pieces I want to update you on. So I guess if you're at all interested to read a bit about my life right now then just keep on reading- and maybe get a cuppa.
I started studying my degree back in September/October last year and oh my has it flown by. I'm now part way through my second term and only have around twelve weeks left of my first year which is so crazy! The whole experience has been an eye opener and also reassured me that isn't all that bad to push yourself out of your comfort zone. I've met some lovely people that I couldn't have done without over the past four months and I can't wait to make many more memories with them all. This opportunity has given me the chance to really know what it's like to budget and it's not as easy as it looks. I would like to say I've been able to budget pretty well but there is definitely some room for improvement, first off stopping with the spontaneous takeaways.

I was lucky enough to get kept on from my Christmas job so I've been working roughly two days a week to earn a little extra cash to keep me afloat. The extra income has been very helpful as student finance definitely doesn't cover expenses at university. I also find having a job is a nice break from all the stresses that come with university and living away from home. It's a nice way to interact with other people and take your mind off things for a while. I don't think it would feel right for me to not have a job as I've had one now for just over three years so it's definitely helped me settle in to university life and some sort of familiar routine.

You may or may not already know but at the end of March I am heading, along with my lovely boyfriend, to Florence on holiday for a week. Being away at uni it is hard to spend quality time together so we thought a romantic week away to Italy over Easter would be a nice way to spend some time together. Once we are there we plan to have a few day trips to Rome, Venice and potentially Pisa and we both plan to eat A LOT of pizza- because pizza is life, right? If you have any recommendations of where to eat in any of those cities it would be very helpful as neither of us have ever been and we could probably do with the help!

Summer Plans
The serial planner inside of me is coming out now, talking about summer at the end of February isn't normal, but hey-ho. Currently my summer plans involve a two week work placement in Bristol and a lot of relaxing at home. For my university course it is essential that I work within an office atmosphere to help enhance my CV ready for placement year. I have been given the opportunity to work with Fleur of England for two weeks within their marketing team, which I am super excited about!

I think that is pretty much everything covered for now but of course I will continue to keep you updated with frequent posts on my blog. I've really been enjoying creating content over the last couple of months and cannot wait to see where this year takes me in regards to blogging. I look forward to sharing it all with you guys.

Let me know below what your plans are this year and what posts you'd like to see more of from me.

  1. I started university in September too and cannot believe how quickly it has gone! I'm still yet to find work though which is frustrating as student expenses can definitely be high. I'm pretty much doing the same with you when it comes to summer as I really want to get myself out there in terms of employment opportunities asap.

Your Florence trips sounds like it will be lovely, aw! I'm planning to go skiing with my friends in December or Easter next year :)

    1. Yeah it really is difficult to budget when being a student! I am so lucky yo have some sort of income to keep me afloat, but don't worry you'll get a job soon! :) If you put your mind to it you will definitely get something! I'm very excited for Florence, counting down the days until I'm on that plane haha
Wow that sounds lovely, I've always wanted to go skiing but never had the chance! I hope you have a lovely time when you do go!

      Thankyou for a lovely comment!
