Collaborative Haul

Since being back in Nottingham I have definitely taken advantage of the summer sales and picked up a few amazing fashion pieces. I noticed that I had few tops in my wardrobe after having a pretty big clear out in June. I wanted to make sure I bought tops that I loved and would get a lot of use out of so I didn't just fill my wardrobe with clothes that I wouldn't wear. I still follow the whole capsule wardrobe way of thinking however I have looked closely at pieces of clothes that I wear a lot and areas that may need refreshing for the season. I wanted to put together a little post to show you what items I ended up keeping from my orders. I wanted to put together a few outfit posts but haven't really had the time to take photos so stay tuned to find out who I style these pieces later on in the month on my Instagram and maybe even a couple of posts here on my blog

I placed three online orders, Missguided, ASOS and finally H&M and my opinions on the clothes I picked were varied. From the Missguided order I only kept one piece, this beautiful Cotton Striped Off-the-shoulder Top. The other clothes just didn't fit or look the way they did on pictures so I decided to only keep what I knew I would wear. I absolutely LOVE this top and I wish I could get away with wearing it everyday, but that obviously isn't socially acceptable. The fabric is super stiff, but in a good way as the sleeves form a fantastic silhouette and elongate the neck area. I love pairing this top with my pleated culottes from Topshop and a simple pair of sliders, super chic and comfy.

The next items I kept were a pair of black trousers from ASOS. I have been on the search for months for a pair of super comfy high-waisted jeans that stay black. I've been reading good reviews about the ASOS Ridley Jeans being able to stand the test of time compared to the Topshop Jamie Jeans. Even though I love the Jamie jeans I still grudge paying close to £40 for a pair of jeans that I know are going to fade. These jeans from ASOS were a mere £25 and I hope will stand the test of time. I will see how they look after a month or twos wear with a bunch of washes and get back to you on my opinions.

The final shop was H&M and I was so happy with every piece I picked, my bank balance on the other hand wasn't. I picked up a few pieces that I think will work great for the remainder of the summer and even into the Autumn months. One thing that is definitely suited for the summer is this stunning Palm Print Skirt, and I am literally in love. The fit and fabric of the skirt is super flattering and not to mention the amazing print. I plan to pair this skirt with a super oversized black t-shirt which I bought from H&M also and a pair of low-top Converse for a super relaxed, comfy outfit. The Black Top that I thought would pair well with this skirt is such a flattering style, it has three-quarter sleeves and a v-neck which sets it apart from your standard black tee. The oversized look of the top pairs perfectly with the beautiful palm print skirt and would look equally stylish with a pair of denim shorts. My favourite purchase of everything has to be this beautiful Navy Off-the-shoulder cropped t-shirt. I was so happy that they had my size in this and I am still waiting for the white version to come back in stock. This t-shirt is super flattering and hits your waist at just the right point. The sleeves are comfortable on your arm and doesn't slip down as it is stitched separately to the body of the top. The fabric is thicker than I expected however it is fantastic as the top holds its shape and will keep you that little bit warmer as we transition into the cooler months. Last but not least we have this stunning pair of Sandals. Yes I know it is a bit strange to be buying sandals in September however I couldn't resist this bargain. This statement sandals were just £12, and considering they are real leather that is such a steal. They are super comfy and definitely add a simple detail to any outfit.

Last but not least to bring my spending spree to an end I popped into my local Topshop and finally picked up a pair of Plisse Culottes. I already own a pair which I previously picked up from Dorothy Perkins- unfortunately they don't sell them anymore- but after I realised how much I wear them I decided to invest in the infamous pair from Topshop.

Overall, I spent around £100 on these new additions to my wardrobe and I am in love with every piece. Over my journey of forming my own capsule wardrobe I have learned how important it is to love everything you own. That way you will find you have a lot more positivity when it comes to outfit planning and most importantly wear the clothes that you own. I probably won't be buying any more clothes for a little while as I have plenty of jumpers to carry me through the Autumn/Winter months, however you never know, I may pick up the odd item that I fall in love with, which of course I will share with you guys.

I hope you enjoyed peeking at my new purchases. Let me know in the comments below how you minimise your wardrobe?
